727 Fuselage Home...

a refurbished a vintage 1965 Boeing 727 airframe
looks like a beautiful and fun place to stay
in costa rica!

"The plane's interior is Costa Rican teak paneling from the cockpit to the tail. Furnishings are hand-carved, teak furniture from Java, Indonesia. Our 727 home features two air conditioned bedrooms--one with two queen sized beds and the other with one queen sized bed, each with its own private bath—a flat screen TV, a kitchenette, dining area foyer; an ocean view terrace; a private entrance up a river rock, spiral staircase; and 360 degrees of surrounding gardens."

 wow! what a view...

yummy party idea...

strawberry margarita jello
shooters!

Use the real Jell-o mix and not a store brand, as the store brands tend not to set up as firmly.
Choose the freshest strawberries you can find.
You can use a strawberry huller or an apple corer along with a melon baller to empty out the strawberry.

These are best made the night before and served the next day.
Fill your strawberries as high as possible, as the Jell-O will sink a bit in the middle.

Yields 24-30 Strawberry Margarita Jello Shooters

Strawberry Prep:
Cut the bottoms of the strawberry flat to get them to stand upright. When you do so, make sure that you do not cut off so much that there is a hole at the bottom.
Use a huller or apple corer to empty out the strawberry.
Once the strawberries have been emptied, use a towel to pat the outside of the strawberries dry.
Check each strawberry and make sure there is not a hole in the bottom before you start filling.
Margarita Mix
1 box Strawberry Jell-O
8 ounces tequila, preferably reposado or blanco
6 ounce Cointreau
Salt for garnish
Instructions
Boil one cup of hot water in a saucepan,  then add in Jell-o powder and whisk until powder is completely dissolved, about 2  minutes. Set aside.  Measure out 1/4 cup of cold water and set aside.

Combine tequila and Cointreau, in cocktail shaker filled with ice. Add liquor mixture to cold water and stir to combine. Then add cold liquor mixture to hot Jell-o mixture and stir to combine.
Pour final Jell-o mix into strawberries and chill overnight. Dip  your finger in water or use a moistened brush to wet the edge of the strawberries, dip and rotate the strawberries in salt to rim. Garnish with cut lime triangles to finish.

        candles vs books...

        what a great idea!
        since receiving my new sofa....

        my fireplace is exposed...
since it doesn't work, i painted the interior
        all white.

i was thinking of filling it with candles...

        BUT

        i came across this idea
        which is quite cute...

         fireplace filled with books...

which one do you think i should do?

        creative....

boy do i love creative people...

        it is so inspiring
        how creative minds work....

        this environmental designer,

         has a fabulous eye...

"The root of my interests lies in sustainable waste management. At present it has manifested itself into a designer maker practice."

        what a great idea!
        using plastic bottle bottoms
        for home design...

        or garden...

i am wondering if i can steal
this idea and make it look as good as she does....

        maybe in my garden?

        i love this table idea....

        i have been holding onto
this pictures for a very long time...

also holding onto the idea and i think
        it's time to use it...

i have an amazing collection of
        clear glass bottles,
that have been collecting for years...

take note that the bottles are all the same height
        the candles are different heights...

        The Wave, Coyote Buttes, Arizona...

        here is a quick post....

i found this picture and just fell in love with it....

        how cool,
i hope to get here one day...

"Set in the remote Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness in northern Arizona, this dazzling rock formation, which looks like a cresting wave frozen in time, isn’t easy to access: you’ll need a permit from the Bureau of Land Management, which allows only 20 people per day to visit the delicate landform. But getting to see this fiery swirl of Jurassic-age sandstone, carved by the wind more than 190 million years ago, is well worth a little advance planning."

        wow...

mother nature really knows what she is doing...

        turtle alert!

        how funny!
        turtles stopping air traffic
        at jfk !!

"About 150 diamondback terrapin turtles - mainly female - tramped across Runway 4 to the 185-acre Jamaica Bay wildlife reserve next door where their eggs will be fertilised by their male partners.
The first turtle was spotted at 6.45am when air traffic control contacted an American Airlines flight bound for the Dominican Republic with the question: 'There's a report of a turtle on the runway. Do you want to have it removed first?'
        "
        - mail online

"Shortly after both Port Authority staff and the US Department of Agriculture were dispatched to help the creatures on their way.
The workers hurried to move the turtles between take-offs and landings, causing delays to numerous flights.
Holidaymakers and airlines took to Twitter to comment on the unusual cause of their travel woes and post witty comments and a Twitter account was even created for the turtles themselves."
